Our Awards & Announcements
This wine is crafted from family owned vineyards grown in the rich, volcanic soil of Sonoma Mountain. The region's volcanic origins date back 15 million years. Volcanic eruptions created the mountain's rock formations, including the basalt and volcanic ash that enrich the soil and make it perfect for wine cultivation. Sonoma Mountain's higher elevation creates cooler temperatures, which help preserve acidity and freshness in the grapes. This allows for longer ripening periods, resulting in more complex flavor profiles. The mountain’s mix of volcanic, clay, and sandy soils, influence grape development and contribute to the wine’s structure and minerality.

All four grape varietals were fermented separately and aged in a combination of neutral French oak barrels, stainless steel barrels, and a concrete egg!

At over 1,400 feet above sea level, Howell Mountain’s unique microclimate and volcanic soils give its wines their remarkable intensity and structure.
